September Home Sale Stats for the five county area

For the Five County Area (Grand Traverse, Antrim, Leelanau, Kalkaska & Benzie, there were a total of 317 residential properties sold in the month of September, 2019.  The high was $2,251,000 and low was $9,000 with an average selling price of $322,084 and median selling price of $250,000.  The average selling price was up about $19K from $302,911 in 2018.  


Year to date in 2019, 2446 residential units have sold with an average selling price of $302,492 and median selling price of $240,000.  This is up slightly from last year at this same time when the number of residential homes sold ytd was 2320 at an average selling price of $281,379 and median price of $220,000.


Of the 317 homes sold in September 2019, the $200K-$400K price range had 43% of the sales with 137 of the 317 homes.  113 homes sold under the $200K mark.  Homes priced $400K or greater accounted for 21% of the sales.  


In Benzie County 37 homes sold in September with an average price of $226,606 (down from $259,166 in 2018).  Average days on market was 137 days up from an average of 120 days in 2018.


In Grand Traverse County, 153 properties sold in September with an average price of $333,456; up slightly from $323,604 average selling price in 2018.  Average days on market increased slightly from 80 DOM in 2018 to 84 average DOM in 2019.


In Leelanau County 53 homes sold in September (same as in 2018) at an average selling price of $448,840 (up from $412,120) a year earlier.  Average days on market was 117 vs 124 days in 2018.


Antrim County had 44 sales (vs. 45 last year) with an average selling price of $334,726 vs. $263,663 in September last year.  Average days on market were 102 days, down from 141 days at the same time last year.


Kalkaska County August stats were fairly similar to 2018 September with 30 homes sold (vs. 31 last year), average selling price of $139,366 (vs. $122,490 last year) and average days on market of 91 (down from 113 in September of last year.)
